Overview

We use cookies and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”) on the WeThryv marketing site and within our product at app.wethryv.com.au to operate, secure, and improve the service. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which types we use, and how you can control them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. They can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them). Related technologies include local storage, pixels, and tags; we refer to all of these as “cookies”.

Why we use cookies

  • Strictly necessary: Keep you signed in, route traffic, prevent fraud, and deliver core features.
  • Performance & analytics: Understand feature usage and improve reliability and UX (often in aggregate).
  • Functional: Remember preferences like language, theme, and dismissed banners.
  • Advertising (on the marketing site only): Measure campaign performance and, where allowed, tailor messages.
  • Security: Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect accounts.

Categories we set

1) Strictly necessary (always on)

Required to deliver the site and app (e.g., authentication, load balancing, fraud prevention). You can’t switch these off in our systems, but you can block them in your browser, note this may break the service.

2) Performance & analytics

Help us understand what’s working so we can improve. Where possible, we use aggregated or de-identified reporting.

3) Functional

Store preferences and enhance usability (e.g., language, UI state).

4) Advertising & measurement (marketing site)

Measure the effectiveness of our marketing and, where permitted, tailor ads. We limit this category to the marketing site; the authenticated app focuses on core function and security.

  • Manage settings anytime:Open cookie settings (wire this link to your CMP or consent dialog).
  • Browser controls: You can block or delete cookies via your browser. Steps vary:
    • Chrome: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and other site data
    • Safari: Settings/Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
    • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
    • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking some cookies may affect sign-in or functionality.
  • Do Not Track: Many browsers offer DNT; while no common standard exists, we generally treat DNT as an opt-out signal for non-essential cookies where feasible.

Third parties

We may use trusted service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, payments, security) that set or process cookies on our behalf under contract. Where a third party sets a cookie, their privacy terms apply in addition to ours.

Data transfers

Cookies may result in data being processed outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses). See our Privacy Policy for more.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in law or how we use cookies. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where required, provide additional notice.
